Day 5- And the freak goes on.
Today's weirdo almost escaped my notice. It was one of those instances where you turn to yourr friend and say "Did I just see....Did she just...?"
It was close to 2pm. We had just finished lunch and were dragging our feet round the food court, trying to forget we had to get back to work in a few short minutes. Anyway, most of the tables were quite full still and I think this is why the weirdo in question didnt really stand out.
Nothing unusual happening All is normal. Scanning the miriad of faces. La di da di daaa......
Waaaaait a minute!!! Back up a bit.
Sitting there acting like everything is right in the universe is an asian woman probably in her mid thirties. She's dressed conservatively. Doesn't look like a homeless woman or a druggie. And she's quite little, both in height (I'm guessing)and frame. No scratch that, she's positively tiny. Miniscule. She's a woman/child.
Now....you know those sponge cakes you get in the supermarket? The two tiered ones with cream in the middle and icing on the top? The ones that come in the plastic containers that look like a top hat?
Got the picture? I'll admit they are not enormous, but still quite large. I'm no Jamie Oliver, but from my childhood baking days I'd say it's probably an 8 inch sponge. Anyway, this lady is sitting there without a care in the world eating her sponge cake.
All at once.
Holding it in both hands and biting into it like it was a sandwhich!!
An entire sponge cake!!
You know what though, I'm not even going to try to understand. I'm just going to let her be. You go girl. Eat your cake.
