Roux Defends the Rights of all Dogs
September 22nd 2009 03:08
My friends Daisy and Scratchy have petitioned their Big Boss, Mr. Champion, to have a blog of their own. This is their right! If a Dog learns to use a typie thing, and can make a blog (that's what mom calls these things) then they have the right to have their very own accounts on Orble, just like I do, and they have a right to write anything they want. Even Heidi and Clyde should be making these blog things, they could write about life in the country and how hard it is for them not to chase the funny things their mum raises for something royal or something.
Now, us dogs are so much better at this because we are always aware of what is going on around us. That's why we can wake up from a dead sleep and be barking at the back door, and then the front door, in fractions of people type seconds. We sleep very deeply sometimes, but we are always ready to wake up to a disturbance, well most of us are, Zeus tended to sleep until I woke him up, and I've heard that many greyhounds are like that, they like to sleep a whole lot but after all the running they do they have a lot of catching up to do.
But that's why they have us Poodle Dogs to help them, you see we always know when to bark, although mom says that sometimes I just bark to make noise, that's not true, I really did hear something, regardless of how far away it might have been.
Rights of dogs, the right to blog; the right to sleep where they choose; closing doors should not be allowed, if a dog chooses to sleep with her people then they should be allowed to do so, because the dog protects those people, even greyhounds do, just because they are very big and people don't know them very well, and to my friends, I'm sorry but most of you greyhound types just aren't the best of watch dogs, some of you would greet a robber with kisses and ask for scratches. But that's because you are so friendly and it isn't your fault. But if someone was threatening your people you'd turn into a fast bitting machine and ripe those people into little shreds. As well you should.
Another right, digging holes where they choose. Another friend of mine, he's really just a puppy about six months, and he's called a Great Dane, and mom says he'll be even bigger than Zeus when he's grown up, and he's almost as big as Zeus now. Anyway, he decided to sleep in the bed next to the stairs, where his friend Cloe sleeps. So he started out sleeping in the space between the stairs and this bed. The he finally decided that this bed, had to be more comfortable, he'd seen what it looked like when his mom took the top off, so one night he took the top off, and curled up in there. It was much softer, smelled really nice and he could get well covered in the dirt, cause it was so soft and a little sticky.
When his mom came out the next morning with her coffee, which he likes but she won't share, but sometimes forgets and leaves hers where he can get it, but that's not the point, Hamlet, being a puppy was still curled up in his new bed when his mom came out, and she woke him up, it seems that she didn't want him sleeping in the nice soft, smelly bed she was growing something called worms in it. But she laughed a lot, and put the top back on, but he can't take it off anymore because she put hooks or something on it, he's currently working on the screen that's on top of the top, he thinks that with a little effort he can pull that off and get back in the nice bed. As he should be allowed to do.
Digging holes and sleeping where they choose, these are undeniable rights for all dogs.
Another right for dogs is to bite people who are mean to them. Dogs no longer should be nice and subservient to people who are mean to them, hit them, or even starve them. Dogs are now allowed not only to bite them, but to run away and find a better place with better people. If the person they bite complains the officials of the people should automatically believe that the dog had a reason and then they should arrest (a term mom used) the person and make them do what ever the dog was made to do. If the dog was beaten then beat the person who did it, if he starved the dog, then he should get exactly the amount of water and food the dog got. If he never cleaned where the dog slept, and had him chained up so the dog couldn't more away from where he lived and slept to do his business (i.e poo, pee, etc) then the same should be done to the person. You get the idea. I've heard that some people believe in an eye for an eye, and I think dogs might want to start thinking the same way.
Finally, at least for tonight, all Dogs have the right to believe in the Great Doggess if they want. Their people can't remove this right, they can't restrain the dog when it is time to howl at the Great Doggess, every month when the big shiny thing the is big at night is as big as it can get. Dogs howl to praise the Great Doggess and this is something that is denied to many dogs. It is wrong.
Next time I'll write about a dogs right to pick the food they want to eat and how much they want to eat. Too many people pick yucky food, and then don't give us as much as we want. That's wrong.
Have a good night, curl up with your dog(s) and have a good sleep, good naps with your dog(s), and cuddles with your dog(s).

Yeah, my paws were really score after that one, especially following the other two too. But it's all true, and I'm glad you both liked it.
Oh, yes Poodle Dogs are very clever, we are one of the most clever around, if not the most clever. But don't let that bother you, you run faster.
Hugs back to you both,
Roux
